Today the paper that Song and Tom wrote on the structure-function relationships of PAD4 was accepted for publication in JTH, congratulations both! Nice piece of work!

Today we learned that Songs manuscript, on the autocitrullination of PAD4 was accepted for publication in the International Journal of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Congrats Song!

Today we heard about the acceptance of the paper written by Kanin on the design of the histone H4 and H2a peptides. A very nice piece of work, which has set the stage for more work on intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs).
Congrats Kanin!

After having spent more than 4 years in our lab, Song is today leaving for her home country China. With nearly all thesis chapters in place, we expect a PhD defence somewhere in spring 2021.
We are sorry we could not have a proper farewell party due to the COVID19 restrictions, but nonetheless are looking forward to seeing her again, and wish her all the best!

Today we heard that a manuscript that was sent to the high ranking journal Circulation was accepted. In particular Kanin should be recommended to this, as he did a lot of effort to make the design of a novel histone inhibitor happen!

Today Danielle defended her PhD thesis. It was a very special occasion, for many reasons, not in the least that this was the first thesis defense by video connection for our group.

Well done Danielle!, We will miss your daily presence in our group!

Today we were supposed to have Danielle’s PhD defense. Already postponed once, again Danielle can not defend her thesis today due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We are very sorry, since she prepared so well.

Certainly, when all has settled she will have a new opportunity to show her skills and expertise and we will especially have a good reason then to celebrate the new doctor!

Today the Maastricht University was targeted by a major hack that resulted in a shut-down of all computer systems, This very disturbing situation lasted until the middle of January. It had big consequences for staff and students of our organisation who were unable to use e-mail nor internet.

NEVER open any mail/attachment from unknown senders!

After a 3,5 year struggle we heard that the manuscript by Nuno, in which also Bogac has been supporting, was accepted for publication in Haematologica. Congratulations to all involved, all the effort that has gone in shows.

In a study that was conducted with our colleagues from the ICU at the Maastricht UMC, and in particular Martine Bol, unders upervision of Macel van de Poll and Jan Willem Sels, we received word from “Shock” that our paper was accepted for publication.

We very much sherish the collaboration and look forward to our future work together.
